I’ve just spent a wonderful night in the Peak District National Park and before returning home, Tracey and I decided to go to the top of Mam Tor that overlooks Edale and the Hope Valley.
Many photographers (like me) have pored over hours of juicy lens reviews looking for that perfect ‘glass’. Something that adds that extra special dimension to the photographers work that no mere ordinary lens could hope to emulate. So what is a wonderful lens?
Cycling can be a great way to stay fit. I love to get out on my bike, it gives me time for contemplation and just going out a few times a week does me the power of good. I’ve never been a competitive rider but that doesn’t stop me from putting some effort in and seeing if I can beat my times on a particular route or segment (smartphone apps like Strava or Endomondo record the stats).
Not too far from where I live is a large polo field that sees plenty of use from April right through to September. I enjoy the challenge of trying to get some good action images and will pitch up with my camera in hand to put myself to the test.
Here are a few images taken over the last couple of years, just to get things started. Subject matter isn’t essential, it’s about capturing the moment for others to appreciate. Feel free to comment, I have one or two more dates in my diary this year for covering some special events.
